Milonga Roma, August 2009

Studio Roma is privately owned venue where Lee Blaugrund has invited his tango-friends to enjoy Argentine Tango social dancing and occasional special events. It is located in the former Bell Trading Post building in the Albuquerque Old Town/Country Club area.

Lee hosts Milonga Roma, an intimate Buenos Aires-style milonga, usually two Saturday nights each month. Milonga Roma is open by invitation to the tango community. A small ($5) donation is suggested.

We attend Studio Roma events as guests at a private residence; please observe following courtesies:

No street shoes or other shoes that may mark the dance floor.

Use the navigation skills and social etiquette of traditional Argentine tango dance venues.

Park as designated below and respect the neighbors.

Studio Roma is on Roma Avenue at the rear of the former Bell Trading Post building at the corner of Central Ave & Laguna (Laguna is just west of a Dairy Queen, a few blocks east of Rio Grande Blvd). From the intersection of Central & Laguna, go north on Laguna. The street becomes Roma as it curves east. The address is posted on the wall next to the entrance gate. The owners of the building at 1401 Central NW offered their parking lot (Myers, Oliver & Price), on the NW corner of 14th and Central about a block and 1/2 from the milonga. Parking is also available in the Gaucho Imports parking lot (see map) and any legal on street parking space. Parking on the east side (dirt area) of the complex must be parallel to the wall/building! Via I-40: Take I-40 west to Rio Grande Blvd exit. Turn south/left on Rio Grande. Turn left/east on Central Ave. Turn left/north on Laguna and follow the street as it curves into Roma Ave.
